The cars rolled out of the driveway, gliding through the empty streets bathed in the golden hues of the setting sun. Inside one of them, Aditi sat beside Avni, her tiny fingers playing with the bangles on her wrist. Every now and then, she’d twist them, watching how they shimmered under the soft light, a giggle escaping her lips.
